Painting as devotion
I paint to give thanks to the beauty all around us. I feel lucky to have discovered painting, as it’s given me a way to express love and appreciation for life. Making art lets us stretch time, allows us to revisit a moment, to go deeper into a place, a memory, and to stay a little longer in the present. I hope to be able to use my artwork to give back somehow, as art has been a gift to me.
I’m from Saskatchewan/ treaty 6 territory, and for the past six years I’ve been living here in the northeast of England with my family. The landscapes of both places inspire a lot of my paintings, and recently I have been attempting more paintings of people too.
Thanks for stopping in. I plan to update the site with more of my paintings, and my first priority is the Gaza fundraiser which you can participate in via the ‘shop’ section.
Sincerely
Ericka
