Flower anniversary
I love the spring flowers here in northeast England. Snowdrops start appearing in late January, then aconytes, crocuses, daffodils, wild garlic, anemone, and the blossoms on the blackthorn are first to flower of the trees. By May the hedgerows, verges, trees, and forest floor are dripping with flowers - bluebells, cherry blossoms, hawthorn, various umbellifers and too many others to list. Each takes its turn in the spotlight throughout the summer. I really started to feel at home here when I was able to understand and recognize the change in vegetation throughout the seasons.
