North from Whittonstall
For a couple of years I would get up really early in the morning and drive to the gym. The drive gave me time to think, and the views on the way were beautiful. Rolling hills, going up and over the divide between the Tyne Valley and the Derwent Valley. This is a winter morning, passing through the neighbouring village on my way back home. We don’t get snow here too often and it really transforms the landscape. Irresistible to stop and admire.
